FANFIC INDEX PAGE:
Here at E!U, we like to read fanfic just as much as the next person.... The frustrating part (besides not getting more stories for Our site) is that when we have that hankering to re-read one, we have no idea where to find it! Arg! So then begins the searching, searching, searching for the story but there is never enough description on the visited website to figure out if that story is indeed the one we are looking for.... ARG! And, again.... ARG!
To fulfill our need to find a story that we liked and would like to re-read.... (That includes a "guilty" pleasure or two.... Stories that we normally wouldn't have admitted to reading....) We've added an index of fanfic from around the web that are on our "must read list." Some of the links have died but keep checking back because we will be adding to it.

Johnny and Chet are trapped after they fall through the floor (not directly associated with the trapped challenge). Chet landed on top of Johnny and both are pinned with Chet unconscious. The rescuers bring in a rescue dog to aid in the search. While trapped, the two are exposed to some toxic gas causig Johnny some serious distress.

During a rescue in a collapsed structure, an explosion occurs and Johnny is trapped under the rubble for a long time with the debry shifting and causing further injuries. After finally extricating him, it is revealed that Johnny suffered burns to his face, arms and chest. He has a long road to recovery. (This story is stupendous!)

During a high-angle rescue, Johnny has a life threatening and career ending injury -- he breaks his neck. This story follows his long term care with a host of characters that we've not really seen in the series. And, the inability of Roy to handle the truth. Also, Johnny gets a new and unlikely roommate in his last home -- Brice, who is dying of Lou Gehrics disease. This story is very indepth into the lives of the characters. There is bitterness, fear and humor.

"Recovery"
Roy is killed while Johnny was on vacation. Johnny becomes an integral part of the DeSoto family. This story goes into how each character deals with Roy's loss over the following year and how the tight crew at Station 51 comes unraveled. Just after the one year anniversary of Roy's death, Johnny receives the news that he will be transfered to another station to begin a new stage in his career - engineer. And, he asks Joanne to marry him. (I just reread this, again, and I was an absolute puddle on the floor. This is a very touching story.)

Set in 1982. Roy and Johnny are still at FS51 as paramedics. Roy is injured and it's not known if he will recover. Johnny takes full blame for it with Chris taking out his anger towards Johnny too. Roy does get better but the rift that Chris has placed between him and Johnny may not be reparable. When Chris's little brother, John, needs rescuing, Chris finds that there is no easy choice.
